Vision Board Template

IDK about you, but September gives me more of a 'fresh start' feeling than January does. This year, I decided to do some planning/goal setting/envisioning/dreaming in September until the end of June. I wanted to share the prompts and template I used.

A little info on vision boards (or whatever you want to call them):

The mechanism underneath isn't magic it's attention. Psychologists call it "priming": when you make a goal visually and emotionally vivid, your brain gets better at noticing opportunities related to it that you'd otherwise move past (e.g., a job posting, a conversation, a class, an opening). There's also research on "implementation intentions" showing that people who get specific about what they want (not just vague hopes) are more likely to act on it. A vision board, done well, is really a forcing function for specificity because it makes you name what you actually want instead of being vague.

Where it tends to fail: treating it as passive (make it once, hope, forget it exists) or too abstract (generic stock photos of "success" that don't mean anything to you specifically).

Where it tends to work: prompts you actually answer in your own words, images tied to something concrete you can act on, and revisiting it regularly so it stays a living reference instead of wall decor.

So it's not magic, but it's not nothing either. It works when it's a tool for clarity and follow-through, not a substitute for either.

Enjoy and let me know how it goes!
